We believe in the teaching of the Bible, God's inerrant Word. The Scriptures of the Old and New

Testaments constitute our rule of faith and practice. They hold the place of authority in our Church and

in our lives. It is the responsibility of the Christian to believe the Scriptures and to live according to

them (Titus 2:11,12). Each believer is guided by the Holy Spirit and is able to understand God's word.

When the Scriptures are silent on matters nonessential to salvation, we permit freedom of

interpretation if such interpretation does not conflict with the basic teachings of the Scriptures. For
